We investigated the miscibilities and morphologies of isotactic and syndiot
actic polypropenes (i-PP/s-PP) with random poly(ethene-co-1-butene) (PEB) a
s a function of 1-butene content in FEB. The blend samples were studied by
means of phase imaging atomic force microscopy, transmission electron micro
scopy, differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic mechanical analysis and X
-ray scattering. It was found that i-PP is melt miscible with FEB for l-but
ene contents of approximate to 88 wt.-% (miscibility window). Partial misci
bility was found for s-PP/PEB blends for l-butene contents ranging from 50
- 88 wt.-%.
