Abstract
Lateral and vertical ordering of self-assembled PbSe quantum dots in PbSe/P bEuTe superlattices has been investigated by high-resolution X-ray diffract ion. The correlations of the dot positions were determined from the widths of the maxima of the scattered intensity in reciprocal space. From the depe ndence of these widths on the scattering vector we determined the degree of the lateral and vertical position correlation. It has been found that thes e correlations sensitively depend on the superlattice period. (C) 2000 Else vier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
