Magnetic susceptibility and magnetization of Ce2CuSi3, single crystal show
strong anisotropy. it is revealed that the magnetic susceptibility exhibits
a maximum at 2K only along the hexagonal c-axis at low magnetic fields. Th
e anisotropic magnetic properties are explained by crystalline electric fie
ld effect. The analysis of the magnetization curves indicates that magnetic
ordering does not occur down to 1.8 K. Electrical resistivity behaves as a
typical Kondo-lattice system with the crystalline electric field effect. (
