The magnetization of CePdAl was measured at low temperatures on a single cr
ystal in steady fields up to 10 T and on powdered sample in pulsed fields u
p to 43 T. Three magnetization steps were found which may be caused by geom
etrical frustration effects. No transition was observed above 7 T. The magn
etization amounts to 1.05 mu(B)/Ce at 43 T. According to the susceptibility
measurement under high pressure, the susceptibility and the Neel temperatu
re (T-N) decrease by pressure, and the antiferromagnetic order disappears a
bove 1.1 GPa. It suggests the quantum phase transition occurs at 1.1 GPa. (
