B-11 NMR in the antiferromagnetic phases of CeB6

B-11 NMR in the antiferromagnetic III and III' phases has been measured For a CeB6, single crystal which is thought to be more stoichiometric than the sample used previously. The spectra obtained are well resolved as compared with those obtained previously. The spectra for H parallel to[1 1 1] are i nterpreted using a model in which a hyperfine interaction of the B-11 nucle us with the octupolar moment of a Ce atom is taken into account. The parame ters such as the amplitude of the octupolar moment are obtained. (C) 2000 E lsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
