In this paper is presented a feature exhibited by all superconductors, a co
rrelation of the critical temperature with the averaged electronegativity o
f the elements. The low- T-c superconductors electronegativity values are c
entered around 1.8, with a range from 1.2 to 2.3. For high-T-c, superconduc
tors the averaged electronegativity around 2.5 gives the highest critical t
emperatures, the overall range of electronegativity for cuprates being betw
een 2.43 and 2.68. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
