Abstract
Two species of Tipula (Arctotipula), T. hovsgolensis new species and T. nam haidorji new species, are described from the Lake Hovsgol watershed, Hovsgo l province, in north-central Mongolia. In addition, two additional species, Tipula (Arctotipula) quadriloba Savchenko and Prionocera serenicola Alexan der, are recorded from the region and Mongolian specimens are compared with the poorly known type specimens. Illustrations of the holotype of Tipula ( Arctotipula) miyadii Alexander (Kurile Islands) are presented in comparison to T. hovsgolensis. Habitat information for each species in the Lake Hovsg ol watershed is characterized; all species have or are presumed to have aqu atic larvae.
