Psychotherapy in foreign countries: History and modern state

The main stages of the history of development of psychotherapy studies are given, particularly the investigation of individual psychodynamic psychothe rapy for adults in out-patient department. It is shown how within the two l ast decades the point of interest in study of some problems is removed from one task to another. The problem of psychotherapy efficacy and the main re sults of its study presented in modern literature are considered in detail. Some approaches to study of the process of psychotherapeutic interaction a nd techniques, in particular the technique "Structural analysis of social b ehavior" (SASB) devised by L. Benjamin as well the possibilities of this te chnique to construct the model of psychotherapeutic process are also consid ered.
