SrO . nFe(2)O(3)(n=1 similar to 6) powders were attempted to be synthe
sized by glycine nitrate process, and their crystal structure and magn
etic properties were investigated. The powders prepared in a beaker we
re mixtures of alpha- Fe2O3, and Sr(NO3)(2), which could be transforme
d to M-phase with the coercivity of 7kOe by heat-treatment. Spray roas
ting process can afford to produce M-phase directly, which shows sigma
(18)=56emu/g, H-cl=5.3kOe. The difference of coercivity by the prepara
tion procedures can be attributed to grain size.
