The transition-metal perovskites SrFe(1.)xCo(x)O(3) (0 less than or eq
ual to x less than or equal to 1) are of a great interest because the
high oxidation states of the transition-metal (Fe(IV), Co(IV)) can be
stabilized. Moreover these compounds exhibit interesting magnetic prop
erties. These oxygen stoichiometric phases have been prepared only und
er high oxygen pressures. A novel preparation method of these phases h
as been investigated using electrochemical oxidation of the SrFe(1.x)C
o(x)O(25)brownmillerite-type compounds [1-3]. The starting materials a
nd the phases obtained after electrochemical processing have been char
acterized by X-ray powder diffraction, chemical analysis and Fe-57 Mos
sbauer spectroscopy. Finally, tile magnetic and transport properties h
ave been studied.
