Studies devoted to the origins of Waldensianism over the past decade have b
roken little new ground. The changes which have occurred, pointing historio
graphy towards themes such as the "literacy of Waldensianism" or "Her-story
", are innovative only in appearance, even if A. Patschovsky and P. Biller
have made significant contributions in these areas. Certain new perspective
s can be found bearing either on the theme of lay preaching (P. Buc on Pier
re le Chantre) or on Valdes from Lyons (hypotheses formulated by M. Rubelli
n).
