Abstract
The stress dependent magnetic parameters of epitaxial garnet films wer e measured, Lattice distortion was found to have a significant effect on the uniaxial anisotropy constant and on the domain wall parameters. Although coercive propel ties are also expected to be sensitive to me chanical stress, this effect was not revealed because of the different individual properties of the samples. A merited is suggested for dete rmining the stress dependence of coercivity, measured on the same samp le. Present results show the primary effect of material structure on t he domain wail coercive field. The effect of modifying magnetic parame ters is weaker. though it also leads to a change in coercivity.
