Abstract
Women with early-stage breast cancer require a multidisciplinary approach t o achieve optimal care. In this article, approaches of the breast surgeon, radiation oncologist, medical oncologist, and plastic surgeon are presented . Preoperative and axillary evaluation, sentinel node biopsy, breast conser vation strategies, postmastectomy radiation, systemic adjuvant therapies, n eoadjuvant chemotherapy, and reconstruction options are discussed, with an emphasis on recent data. General guidelines for multidisciplinary patient c are also are provided.
