Abstract
Important advances in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatic malignancies h
ave occurred in the last decade. In this article, the assessment of focal l
iver lesions is reviewed, and algorithms for management are suggested. The
thorough understanding of the biology of the underlying disease and the ben
efits and limitations of the diagnostic and therapeutic alternatives optimi
ze results and use of resources.
