Abstract
The Br-Li exchange of bromophenyl-ortho-carborane 1 is faster than the depr otonation of the acidic C-H hydrogen of the carborane cage. The resulting p henyl anion undergoes rapid proton exchange to give the cluster anion. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
