Abstract
Kinetic resolution of racemic 2-(2-furyl)-2-hydroxyethyl acetate by transes terification with vinyl acetate in the presence of Amano PS lipase, yieldin g (1R)-1-(2-furyl)ethane-1,2-diol diacetate with 98% ee and (2S)-2-(2-furyl )-2-hydroxyethyl acetate with >99% ee, is described.
