Abstract
We report on the observation of similar to 1.54 mu m guided wave absorption and fluorescence in channel waveguides fabricated in erbium-doped thin-fil m epitaxial BaTiO3. Luminescence transient measurements indicate that the r elaxation of the excited Er ions is dominantly radiative. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
