Abstract
A mono-dimensional shear lag model has been developed in order to assess th e interfacial shear strength from microindentation test. The treatment of t he experimental load/displacement curves is based upon the quantification o f the two components of the indenter displacement (the elasto-platic indent ation of the fibre surface by the Vickers indenter and the displacement of the fibre surface due to the elastic stifness of fibre-matrix system togeth er the interface sliding). The developed model teas used for a quantitative analysis of the experimental indentation curves obtained on a variety of c omposite materials. Some extensions of the model are developed to account f or some deviations between the model and the experiments.
