This paper studies the influence of P2O5 on the mineral composition and the
physical and mechanical properties of alite-sulphoaluminate cement. The re
sults show that a small amount of P2O5 can improve the burnability and lowe
r the clinkering temperature. It may also affect the mineral formation of t
he clinkers and decrease the 3 day strength of the cement, but improve the
7 and 28 day strengths. If the amount of P2O5 is higher than 0.5 wt.-% ther
e is a considerable decrease in the content of the main minerals C(4)A(3)-(
S) over bar and C3S, the free lime increases, there is an appreciable drop
in the strength of the cement at the various ages, and the setting time is
delayed.
