Abstract
Calculated neutron cross-sections in agreement with the experimental data h ave been obtained for U-238 in the energy range 0.01-5.5 MeV. The compound nucleus calculations have been performed with a version of the HRTW statist ical model extended to subbarrier excitation energies which includes the ca lculation of the isomeric fission. The results confirm the power of predict ion of this model for the actinide nuclei. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. A ll rights reserved.
