Abstract
The first examples of negative solvatochromism in neutral azo dyes containi ng both strongly electron-donating bis(dialkylamino) thiazolyl and electron -withdrawing 4-(trifluoromethylsulfonyl) phenyl or 2-thiazolyl moieties are reported.
