Abstract
Replacing phosphodiester linkages in DNA with neutral 3'-N-sulfamate groups has little effect on the binding affinity for complementary DNA or RNA, wh ereas incorporation of sulfamide groups into DNA results in considerable de stabilisation of isosequential duplexes.
