Abstract
New insight is given into the complex molecular structure and composition o f thin-film deposits of acrylic acid IAA) and 1,7-octadiene (OD) by variabl e-temperature ellipsometry. An AA plasma polymer is shown to contain nonbou nd, volatile material, which includes water, AA monomer, and oligomers ther eof. The addition (0.25 molar fraction) of OD to an AA plasma is sufficient to cross-link most of these volatiles into the plasma copolymer deposit.
