Abstract
Sigmoidea contorta sp. nov. is described from a freshwater stream in Thaila nd. It is similar to Sigmoidea prolifera, but differs in gross colony morph ology and by the presence of a microconidial state on thick-walled contorte d hyphal branches. Geniculospora grandis tone isolate from stream foam) and Setosynnema isthmosporum (three isolates from decaying leaves in water) ar e described from pure cultures.
