Abundisporus sclerosetosus sp nov from Singapore

Abundisporus sclerosetosus sp. nov, from the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Si ngapore is described. The species was collected on a dead trunk of Shorea s p. (Dipterocarpaceae) and is characterized by a trimitic hyphal system and digitate, setiform hyphae in the trams of the tubes. The taxon is compared with Abundisporus violaceus, A. fuscopurpureus, A. roseoalbus, and also wit h a few South-East Asian taxa described by Corner in Loweporus. A key to th e Abundisporus and pileate Loweporus species with basidiospores shorter tha n 5 mu m is provided. (C) 2000 Editions scientifiques et mCdicaIes Elsevier SAS.
