With the advent of various information and communication services, it has b
ecome difficult for the end user to select appropriately the service corres
ponding to his objective. In addition, there are some modes of providing se
rvice by connection among several service providers, so that the service pr
oviding process is expected to be more complex and longer. Therefore, the e
nd user may not receive service when it is desired. In order to solve these
problems, the authors propose intelligent dynamic service provisioning, a
new concept for provisioning in our multimedia society. In this article, in
regard to the intelligent dynamic service provisioning, a method is propos
ed for selecting and controlling the service in response to the service dem
and of the end user appropriately to the terminal. system and network condi
tions. By means of a prototype based on the proposed method, the effectiven
ess of the method is verified. (C) 2000 Scripta Technica.
