Abstract
It is shown that bandwidth management in dispersion-alternating fibres allo ws noise accumulation in spaces to be suppressed and signal pulses, bandwid th-managed solitons (BMS), to be stably propagated over ultra-long distance s. Both the amplitude and timing jitter of the signal pulses are greatly re duced by using BMS while the transmission distance is dramatically increase d.
