Am. Jeffrey et Gm. Williams, Lack of DNA-damaging activity of five non-nutritive sweeteners in the rat hepatocyte/DNA repair assay, FOOD CHEM T, 38(4), 2000, pp. 335-338
The non-nutritive sweeteners acesulfame-K, aspartame, cyclamate, saccharin
and sucralose were tested for DNA damaging activity in the rat hepatocyte/D
NA repair assay. Using hepatocytes from F344 and Sprague-Dawley male rats,
all were inactive despite strong responses for the positive control, 2-amin
o-fluorene, (C), 2000 Elsevier Science Lid. All rights reserved.
