Abstract
A very important question associated with the phenomenological modeling of the magnetic hysteresis is the identification problem. In this article only the Preisach and the energetic model for ferromagnetic hysteresis are cons idered. An original identification method for the energetic model is presen ted. As it uses common experimental data such as simple parameters on the m ajor loop: coercive field, saturation, remanence, or susceptibilities on di fferent points of the loop it is not too sensitive to experimental errors. The method is verified on various commercial particulate magnetic media wit h excellent agreement. (C) 2000 American Institute of Physics. [S0021-8979( 00)92108-X].
