Abstract
The magnetic properties of submicron circular epitaxial Co dot arrays fabri cated by electron beam lithography have been studied as a function of thick ness using high resolution magnetic force microscopy. As a function of thic kness, in-plane single domain, vortex, or perpendicular multidomain phases have been identified. The evolution of the domain structures with dot thick ness agrees well with theory. (C) 2000 American Institute of Physics. [S002 1-8979(00)37208-5].
