The effect of dipolar interactions on the giant magnetoresistance (GMR) of
a granular metal is studied numerically. The equilibrium magnetic configura
tion of the system is obtained by classical Monte Carlo simulation and the
conductance is calculated using the real space Kubo-Greenwood formula and a
single band tight-binding Hamiltonian. The numerical results are compared
with experimental finding. (C) 2000 American Institute of Physics. [S0021-8
