Abstract
Crystalline films of La0.65Pb0.35MnO3 grown on (100) LaAlO (3) substrates b y rf sputtering have been investigated using magnetic circular dichroism an d inverse photoemission spectroscopy. We find evidence for strong hybridiza tion between unoccupied levels associated with Mn 3d and O 2p states. The o xygen atoms "pick-up" a small magnetic moment through hybridization with Mn .
