Abstract
The optical dephasing time in EU3+ :Y-2 SiO5 has been measured using optica l Carr-Purcell-Meiboom-Gill (CPMG) experiments. The measured T-2 increases significantly as the time spacing between pulses in the CPMG sequence is de creased. This is not in agreement with the optical Bloch equations (OBEs) w hich assumes a constant value of T-2 (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
