An MR examination in a patient with neurosarcoidosis showed an intrase
llar cystic mass extending into the suprasellar space. The wall of the
mass was thick, it enhanced after administration of contrast material
, and it extended into the infundibulum and hypothalamus. Pathologic f
indings showed noncaseating granulomatous inflammation; the cystic com
ponent was considered to be ischemic necrosis of the intracranial sarc
oid mass.
