Abstract
Preparation of double-layered carbosilane dendrimers using hydrosilylation and alkenylation as well as alkynylation is described. The dendritic molecu le is developed up to the fourth generation, which is composed of one propy lene and two ethenyl layers in the inner shell and 96 phenylethynyl groups on the outermost periphery. The dendrimers are characterized by the use of NMR, MALDI-TOF mass spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
