N. Brenes et al., PERFORMANCE-CHARACTERISTICS IN THE DETERMINATION OF SOIL-WATER PH ANDSOIL-SMP BUFFER PH USING A FLOW-THROUGH JUNCTION COMBINATION ELECTRODE, Communications in soil science and plant analysis, 28(9-10), 1997, pp. 759-775
A laboratory robot has been used to assess the performance of a commer
cially available flow-through junction pH electrode. The electrode was
tested for accuracy and precision in the determination of soil-water
pH (pH(w)) and the Shoemaker, McLean, and Pratt buffer solution pH (pH
(SMP)). The significance of the pH(SMP) determination lies in subseque
nt calculations of soil lime requirement(LR). Response times and hyste
resis effects were compared under different operating conditions.
