Repair of the huge umbilical hernia in black children

Surgical repair of large umbilical hernias may present a challenging surgic al problem. The currently described surgical techniques often yield disappo inting results. The authors describe a new technique that allows for the re pair of the fascial defect and the creation, with the use of a square cutan eous flap, of a neoumbilicus with sufficient depth and a good cosmetic appe arance.
