Abstract
The Ginzburg-Landau equations have been solved numerically for Pb-Sn and Nb -Zr multilayer systems. The calculated specific heats as a function of temp erature are found to be in good agreement with experiment. In particular, t he proximity-effect broadened Sn transition near T = 3 K in the Pb-Sn syste ms is well reproduced by the calculations. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier S cience Ltd.
