Abstract
We analyze the propagation of linear radiation waves using the P-1/3 equati ons recently suggested by Olson (Olson et al. JQSRT 1999; in press). These equations lead to the correct behavior of the radiation held under a wide v ariety of conditions and may provide a simple and practical method of solvi ng time-dependent radiation transport problems, even in complex geometries.
