N. Anagreh, Comparative examination of the adhesion strength of bonded glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin with different silicon rubbers, KAUT GUM KU, 53(4), 2000, pp. 182
The examination shows that a significant increase of the adhesion appeared
after a treatment of the epoxy surface with a primer. Strong adhesion impro
vement was attainable if the layer thickness of the primer is smaller than
1 g/m(2). An additional degreasing of the surface with acetone prior to tre
atment with the primer causes an increased pretreatment effect. The samples
broke partialy cohesive in the adhesive layer and partialy adhesive. On th
e other hand the mechanical treatment in combination with the primer only l
eads to slight adhesion improvement.
