In PA-6/PEA-blends the crystallization potential of PA-6 is reduced by reac
tions leading to either longer or crosslinked chains. Depending on the mech
anical pre-treatment, blends with less than 40 wt-% PA-6 crystallize in 2 o
r 3 steps. For the system PA-6/PEA (W(PA-6) = 0.2) it has been shown that a
multi-step crystallization does only occur if and when the mixing process
has been long enough. The DSC results show that in blends with up to 60 wt-
% PEA the PEA is dispersed into a matrix formed by PA-6. The Brill-transiti
on of polyamide in PA-6/PEA (W(PA-6)= 0.2) has been studied using dynamic w
ide-angle X-ray experiments.
