Abstract
We study the application of the so-called mixed interpolation methods derived by De Meyer, Vanthournout and Vanden Berghe (1990) in the nume rical solution of Volterra integro-differential equations of first and second order with periodic solutions. The existence of periodic solut ions is examined and a convergence analysis of the numerical method is given. Numerical results are included for two examples. (C) 1997 Else vier Science B.V.
