Abstract
The generation of optical-microwave mixing by FM/IM conversion is investiga ted by using three types of interferometers. The performances obtained with the different components are compared in terms of stability, frequency ban dwidth, and conversion loss. Experimental results are finally reported with an UMZ integrated on a glass substrate, which is a low-cost device of easy fabrication. (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
