Open charm and beauty production at HERA

Measurements on open charm and beauty production in cp collisions at a cent re-of-mass energy of root s = 300 GeV performed by the H1 experiment at HER A are presented. Final states containing charm are identified by the recons truction of D*+/- meson while events containing muons and at least two jets were used to select a data sample enriched with beauty. The results cot er the region of four-momentum transfer squared Q(2) from photoproduction (Q( 2) approximate to 0) to deep inelastic scattering at large Q(2). The experi mental results are compared with theoretical prediction based on QCD calcul ations.
