Abstract
The weakly coordinating anions {C6F4-1,2-[B(C6F5)(2)](2)(mu-OR)}(-) (R = CH 3, C6F5) were prepared as their trityl salts (2-OR) and fully characterized . Stoichiometric reactions with Cp2ZrMe2 yield dimeric (3-OR) or monomeric (4-OR) metallocenium ions; the latter are highly effective cocatalysts for ethylene polymerization.
