Abstract
The author presents personal experiences irt implementing a supported educa tion program for individuals with psychiatric disabilities. The remarkable effects of the program on the participants, their mental health workers, ot her people with psychiatric disability and the general public are portrayed . However; pervasive stigma is still associated with psychiatric disability -even in higher education settings. The discussion focuses on the challenge s confronting further and widespread implementation of supported education programs.
