Abstract
Short term tests taken on Ti-5Al-2.5Fe and Ti-6Al-4V alloys in physiologica l environments (0.9% NaCl and Ringer's solution with adjusted pH) have reve aled that there is no risk of localised corrosion (pitting or crevice) as a consequence of non-uniform composition of the electrolyte along the metall ic surface.
