Ni. Buryak et al., Complexation of the titanium(II) and titanium(III) ions in a carbamide-ammonium chloride melt upon the anodic dissolution of metal, RUSS J C CH, 26(4), 2000, pp. 244-246
Complexation of the titanium ions upon the anodic (j = 5-50 mA/cm(2)) disso
lution of metal in a CO(NH2)(2)-(5-20 mol %) NH4Cl melt at 393-423 K was st
udied by spectroscopic methods (electronic, EPR, and IR spectroscopy). The
dissolution at a current density of j 5-20 mA/cm(2) gives the octahedral Ti
(II) complexes with carbamide coordinated through the oxygen atom, whereas
at j = 30-50 mA/cm(2), the quasi-octahedral Ti(III) complexes are formed, w
ith the carbamide molecule coordinated through the nitrogen atom.
