A comparative analysis of calculated acid-base equilibrium constants at the
aluminum oxide(hydroxide)/solution interface is presented. The constants w
ere obtained from the experimental pH dependences of the electrokinetic pot
ential and potentiometric titration curves for Al2O3, AlOOH suspensions. Th
e equilibrium constants and pH(zcp) values underwent displacement to the al
kaline region as the degree of oxide hydration increased.
