Electric field strength in gas discharge in argon-oxygen-ozone mixtures was
measured by the probe method, the concentrations of active particles were
determined by actinometry, and the kinetics of activation processes was ana
lyzed. The Boltzmann kinetic equation and the direct kinetic problem in the
self-consistent form were solved numerically. Data on the rates and rate c
onstant for elementary chemical reactions in the specified mixtures were ob
tained. The major role in the formation of ozone in glow discharge is playe
d by associative abstraction. The concentration of ozone in a plasma of glo
w discharge is proportional to the volume of the ozone-oxygen mixture intro
duced from a barrier-discharge reactor.
